Bloodworms are harvested with a metal hoe at low water in the mud flats which extend out in the ocean for a long ways. But sea worms -– big slimy ones -– are the fourth most-valuable creature harvested in Maine's coastal tidal mud flats and are considered the best bait for saltwater fishing.
